Alexandru Badarau, the head of the Farmers' Force Association, announces that he has been appointed as advisor on agriculture in the cabinet of Prime Minister Dorin Recean. The government spokesman, Daniel Voda, says that the position proposed to Mr. Badarau is that of advisor, which is a position of public dignity, IPN reports.

He will start his duties on Monday, March 10.

"The appointment took place following a transparent process, initiated through a proposal made by Prime Minister Dorin Recean to agricultural associations. I decided to assume this commitment made to my colleagues, including the mandate received from the Farmers' Strength Association," said Alexandru Badarau in a Facebook post.

Government spokesman Daniel Voda explained that by accepting the position of counselor, which is a position of public dignity, the person is not entitled to carry out any other remunerated activity.

"Prime Minister Dorin Recean, as he publicly promised, proposed Mr. Alexandru Badarau, the head of the "Farmers' Force" Association, to come to the post of the Prime Minister's advisor in the field of agriculture, in order to help farmers in this public service post," the Government spokesman Daniel Voda said.
