The construction site of the Vulcanesti-Chisinau power line has been extended today in the area of Cenac, Cimislia district. Thus, after the increase of the teams of workers and with the improvement of the weather, the excavation works of the foundation pits for the pylons have been extended. At the same time, the Energy Ministry announced that next week a new team of specialists from Turkey will arrive to start work in new locations, IPN reports.
State Secretary of the Ministry of Energy Constantin Borosan emphasized the strategic importance of the Vulcanesti-Chisinau power line for ensuring the country's energy security. He urged the company's representatives to keep up the pace of works and to step up efforts as weather conditions improve.
At this stage, construction and installation works are 22% completed. The construction site extends in ATU Gagauzia, Leova, Cahul (Borceag), Taraclia and Cimislia districts. Access has been provided in the districts of Hincesti and Vulcanesti. At the same time, the overall implementation progress, including design, supply, construction and installation, is about 50%
The construction works were effectively launched in April 2024, after the technical design was developed and approved and the preconditions for works were realized. They are in the process of being carried out in ATU Gagauzia, Leova, Cahul and Taraclia districts. The materials and components necessary for the construction of the LEA have been produced and delivered in 90% volume.
The works on the power line are being carried out by KEC International Limited, on the Chisinau Power Station by the consortium of Siemens Energy SRL - Electromontaj SA - Energotech SA, and on the Vulcanesti Power Station by the consortium of Celin SRL and Energobit SA.
