Termoelectrica has successfully implemented the program to modernize and rehabilitate the infrastructure that was planned for 2020. This will enable to more efficiently provide heating services for consumers during the cold period of the year, the company said in a press release that is quoted by IPN.  The investments this year amounted to 682 million lei and were made in electricity and heat production in a cogeneration regime and in the supply of heat and hot water.

The largest part of the resources went to extensively repair 50 sections of heat pipes with a total length of 15 km and the thermal insulation of over 8.5 km of overground heat pipes – 230 million lei. A sum of 380 million lei was allocated for rehabilitating and maintaining heating equipment at production sources.

Termoelectrica director general Veaceslav Eni said the company in the course of this year initiated new projects, provided the consumers with new communication channels, offered reliable energy solutions that will lead to the diminution of costs and continued to supply the country with electrical energy produced at home and with heat for the about 500,000 consumers in Chisinau.

This year, Termoelectrica also inaugurated a modern commercial center for service and relations with consumers, provided the consumers with multiple remote consultancy and support instruments and extended the client basis, signing 28 new partnership contracts for the connection to the centralized heating system. In parallel, the company managed to connect 17 consumers. The company is also implementing the project to build the first biomass heating station.

Termoelectrica in 2020 successfully completed the Project to Improve the Efficiency of the Centralized Heating System that was implemented with support from the World Bank. The project ended with the installation of 21 Individual Heat Points in buildings and the construction of 1.2 km long piping systems.

The company also launched the second Project to Improve the Efficiency of the Centralized Heating System so as to increase the efficiency of the cogeneration process by installing new energy production equipment, ensuring the sustainable development of Termoelectrica and making pilot investments in the energy efficiency of public and residential buildings. Termoelectrica said that it fully pays for the current natural gas consumption and has gradually diminished the historical debt to Moldovagaz, until now by over 670 million lei.

The company was awarded a Quality Goodness statuette and a Gold Medal trophy by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry at the Moldovan Business Gala. “The results of the company are due to the trust put in it by the consumers and also to the team of Termoelectrica that consists of about 1,900 employees, who take care to provide vital services nonstop, regardless of the emerging difficulties,” stated Veaceslav Eni.
