A number of persons, including veterans, tried to block movement on the road that connects Bender and Varnița. They said they want to hamper the organized transportation of voters from the Transnistrian region to the polling stations established in Varnița. The police intervened to ensure the movement of vehicles, IPN reports.

PAS Igor Grosu travelled to the scene. He said they protest against the illegal transportation of voters. In the morning, thousands of voters were brought to the four polling stations in Varnița. While talking to them, they realized that those voters do not know anything about the electoral processes on the right side of the Nistru.

In a news conference, CEC president Dorin Cimil said that an altercation involving locals and veterans who tried to hamper voting occurred in the morning. As a result, the access to a polling station was blocked. The police had to intervene to ensure the exercise of the right to vote for the people coming from the Transnistrian region.

The CEC warns that any action to limit the human rights and freedoms of other persons is against the law. The obstruction of rights carries penalties.
