The tender contest for the construction of wind and photovoltaic farms with a total capacity of 165 MW will be launched next week. A decision in this regard was adopted by the tender commission led by Minister of Energy Victor Parlicov. It approved the tender documentation, which is to be translated into English and published for the attention of potential investors, IPN reports.

The Ministry of Energy said that until the launch of the tender contest, several rounds of public discussions were organized with the participation of private companies interested in the field and business associations, which presented their position for improving the conditions of participation and conduct of the tender contest.

Thus, through this tender contest, investments of approximately €190 million are expected to be made in the construction of wind and photovoltaic farms. It is estimated that after the completion of the process of connecting the power plants, the share of energy produced from renewable sources will increase from 10% to 16.6%, significantly contributing to achieving the commitment to have a share of 27% in total consumption by 2030, a target set in the draft Integrated National Energy and Climate Plan.

According to the simplified and debureaucratized participation requirements, the winners of the competitions will receive a guaranteed fixed price for a period of 15 years for the generated electricity. The guaranteed fixed price will be determined during the tendering and cannot exceed the ceiling price of 1.5 lei/kWh wind and 1.67 lei/kWh solar, set by the National Agency for Energy Regulation.

For large renewable capacities, a total capacity of 165 MW was allocated, divided by technologies – 105 MW for wind installations and 60 MW for photovoltaics.

The applications, technical and financial offers are to be submitted and accepted starting with September 2024. More details are to be provided in the notice of initiation of the tendering procedure that will be published next week.
