The tender commission tasked with organising the buyout of the municipal stations “Antena C” and “Euro TV Chisinau” registered 3 participants on January 15, two willing to buy the TV channel and one the radio station. The 3 bidders are the “Music Master” recording label and Igor Boldureanu, who submitted documents for purchasing “Euro TV Chisinau”, and Dumitru Liuticov, who submitted the request for buying the “Antena C” radio station. On Monday, the box where the offers had been submitted was opened. After that, the applications were examined in order to establish whether they meet the registration requirements. Interim mayor Vasile Ursu, who is also the chairman of the commission, stated at the end of the session that the commission members are to be summoned in order to analyse each offer separately, as well as the annexed documents. He also stated that at a first glance, the participants fulfilled the registration requirements and presented the necessary documents. Ecaterina Stratan, deputy director of “Antena C” told reporters that the entire staff of the station considers that the Municipal Council’s decision ordering the buyout of the two institutions is illegal, and that is why the attitude of the personnel towards the new owner of the station will be corresponding. The CMC decided on December 14 through the vote of the communist and Christian Democrat councillors to sell out the 2 stations. This decision displeased the staffs of the two stations and generated protests which engaged staffs, the civil society and political parties. Thirty-seven employees of the two institutions have submitted a request for summoning the Chisinau Municipal Council and interim mayor Vasile Ursu in court, soliciting to urgently suspend the procedure of selling the two institutions and annul the precursory normative documents. The first court sitting for examining the request will be held on January 23.
