Ten block yards will be refurbished

Ten yards of living blocks in Chisinau will be refurbished this month. Mayor Dorin Chirtoaca said during Monday's City Hall meeting that the project includes creating parking lots, repairing access ways and street lights, the reconstruction of dumps, changing trash containers where needed, renovating playgrounds and the inventory of green spaces, Info-Prim Neo reports. “Tenants are requested to involve as much as possible by cleaning the stairways and cosmetic repairs. We want to install a light switch sensor on each floor”, said Chirtoaca. The ten yards selected for refurbishing are located on Alba Iulia, Burebista, Independentei, Ismail, Petru Zadnipru, Alecu Russo, Ceucari and Moscovei streets. Adrian Boldurescu, interim head of the Public Transport and Communication Ways Division, said that the construction of each square meter of a parking lot would cost 300-320 lei and estimated the overall costs of the refurbishing between 300,000 and 500,000 lei. The works in the yard on Alba Iulia Street, 202, in the Buiucani sector, will begin on Wednesday, August 10. The other yards will be refurbished after the project sketch is ready.
