Seven teenage girls had been sexually exploited for about half a year. Those who recruited them profited from their precarious financial or family situation and even used physical force against the girls. Among the five accused persons is a 17-year-old girl, IPN reports.
The Prosecutor’s Office for Organized Crime and Special Cases said the victims are form Chisinau, Căușeni and Ialoveni and were exploited during April-September 2022. They were persuaded to have sex for money in the apartments where they were housed and at places requested by clients. The girls were to receive half of the fee paid by clients. They mainly provided services in the evening and at night for 3-4 clients each.
The accused young people who are from Chisinau, Ialoveni, Telenești and Căușeni were aged between 18 and 19 when they started their illegal activities. The leader of the group was 24 and was wanted as he had been convicted to five years in jail for theft. The 17-year-old girl coordinated the work of the teenage girls and managed the revenues coming from their exploitation.
The five are to stand trial and face 15 to 20 years in jail or life imprisonment.
