The deadline by which taxpayers can present tax returns and pay taxes on the incomes earned in 2014 is March 25. The State Tax Service set extended working hours for the local tax inspectorates. On March 23 and 24, the inspectorates will work from 8am until 7pm, while on March 25, by one hour more, until 8pm, IPN reports.
The private individuals are obliged to submit tax returns if they have two or more jobs and obtained a salary that cumulatively exceeds 27,852 lei a year. Filing tax returns is also mandataory for persons who didn’t get a salary, but gained incomes from the sale of property (houses, vehicles) or from leasing out farmland (if the sum obtained from these transactions is higher than 9,516 lei), for the Moldovans who settled abroad and for foreigners or stateleess persons who obtained the status of resident of Moldova and has stayed in Moldova for over 183 days.
The tax return can be submitted to any tax inspectorate, regardless of the person’s place of resdience. The income tax for private individuals is 7% of the annual taxable income that does not exceed 27,852 lei and 18% of the annual taxable income that exceeds this sum.
