A taxi driver aged 25 was arrested by the police on suspicion that he beat a 20-year-old man to death. They are both native of Costesti village of Ialoveni district, IPN reports.
It was established that the man aged 20 traveled by a taxi from Chisinau to Costesti. When he reached the destination, he said that he does not have money to pay for the trip. The taxi driver became thus furious.
The police were called by the victim’s relatives who found the young man with multiple wounds in his house. He died before the doctors arrived. The medical examiners established that the victim was kicked, punched and hit with an unidentified object. Most probably the victim got his spleen ruptured.
When questioned by the police, the taxi driver accepted his blame. The head of the General Police Inspectorate’s press service Sabina Cojusnean said the court is to decide if the taxi driver will be tried for murder too or only for causing serious bodily injuries to the victim.
