A System of Credits started to be implemented in all the colleges of Moldova in September. Thus, the students who were admitted to colleges in the first year are able to choose some of the disciplines. By optional courses, the students can obtain additional qualifications in other specialties. The system is implemented nationwide after being successfully piloted in 13 colleges during the 2013-2014 academic year, IPN reports.
Under the regulations concerning the organization of the education process based on the System of Credits, the students will have to collect 120 credits during the years of study. Another 10 credits are to be accumulated in the disciplines of one’s choice.
The students will have to mandatorily study a foreign language, an informatics course and a communication course.
In Moldova there are 45 colleges attended by about 29,000 students.
