The Swiss Confederation is willing to continue supporting Moldova in implementing various projects for social-economical development. In order to determine the priorities in this respect, representatives of the Swiss Agency for Development will take part in the session of the consulting group of donors for Moldova, which will take place on December 12 in Brussels. In a letter addressed to Prime Minister Vasile Tarlev by President of the Swiss confederation, Moritz Leuenberger, it is mentioned the taking part in this forum will constitute a good occasion to “debate a number of issues linked to the most important medium term development programmes in Moldova and to exchange information with all the donors”. According to the same source, Switzerland has been actively supporting Moldova in terms of bilateral assistance since 2000. The Swiss Development Agency offers assistance to reforms in healthcare and professional training, and through the State Secretariat for Economic Affairs, Switzerland is supporting the Investment Compact initiative, with specific programmes within the Stability Pact for South-East Europe.
