Four people, including a minor, were detained on suspicion of applying the “relative involved in the road accident” scam. According to police, the total damage caused to the victims is about 900,000 lei, IPN reports.
The General Police Inspectorate said that the suspects are from Balti municipality. Three are aged 18 and 19, and one of them is a minor.
The young people are suspected of involvement in at least five scams of the kind implemented last week.
Three of the suspects were detained for 72 hours, while the minor is being investigated at large. If their guilt is proven, the young people will serve four to eight years in jail.
