Supporters of Alexandr Stoianoglo call the inhabitants of Gagauzia to vote for Mihail Formuzal in the second round

The initiative group for the promotion of the candidate Alexandr Stoianoglo for the function of Baskan of UTA Gagauzia, who did not pass into the next round of voting, made a public addressing to the inhabitants of Gagauzia which calls upon them to support the candidacy of Mihail Formuzal in the second poll. In an official statement of the press service of the candidate to the function of Baskan of Gagauzia, Mihail Formuzal, broadcasted to the means of information in Chisinau, it is said that this decision was taken by the initiative group on December 6. Asked by Info-Prim Neo, Mihail Formuzal confirmed the accuracy of the information. He stressed, however, that it was not Stoianoglo who declared himself in favor of Formuzal’s candidacy, but the initiative group who supported him in the first round. “Personally, Stoianoglo did not make any pronouncements”, concluded Formuzal. The mayor of Ciadar-Lunga, Mihail Formuzal, and the mayor of Comrat, Nicolai Dudolgo, will contest the title of Baskan (governor) of Gagauzia in the second election poll, on December 17. The Central Electoral Commission from Comrat announced the official results of the first poll only on Wednesday, December 6. More than 56 thousand inhabitants of the autonomy of the total of 88 thousand, included in the election lists, voted in the first round. Formuzal accumulated the most votes (33.89%), followed by Doduglo, with 31.4%. The current Baskan, Gheorghe Tabunscic accumulated 24.14% of the votes, and Alexandr Stoianoglo, the deputy district attorney of the RM – 19.58% of the votes.
