President Maia Sandu invited the dancers of “Hecenii” Ensemble to the Presidential Palace after the group’s successful performance at the latest show “Romania’s Got Talent”. The young dancers from Heciul Nou village of Sângerei district qualified directly for the semifinal of the 14th season of the famous Romanian show, IPN reports.
President Maia Sandu came with a message of congratulations and support for the success of the folk dance ensemble “Hecenii”, which raised the hall to its feet and generated waves of applause. According to her, this ensemble needs the support of the central and local authorities.
“I urge the Government to find as soon as possible, together with the local public administration of Sângerei district, a new, modern space that meets the needs so that these children can continue dancing and promoting our traditions. I also invited these wonderful young people, together with choreographer Dionisie Cobylass, to the Presidential Palace,” said the head of state.
The jury members noted that it is for the first time in history when a folk group received the Golden Buzz special prize at the contest “Romania’s Got Talent”, which means qualification for the semifinal.
“This is the first time that a folk dance has taken me through all the states. I rejoiced like a child seeing how much energy you have. I’m a lover of folk music and traditions, but it seems to me that you have the whole package. Folklore will never die because, when I look at you, I think the future sounds good. I have never seen such dedication in folk dances and I know that it is a premiere,” singer Andra, a jury member, said before pressing the button and propelling “Hecenii” Ensemble directly to the semifinal of the competition.
