Today’s meeting at the Metropolis of Moldova was an occasion to discuss, among other things, a request by a group of Chisinau priests for Metropolitan Vladimir to initiate the Metropolis’s accession to the Romanian Patriarchate, according to the archpriest Pavel Borșevschi.

While the assembly voted to keep the status quo, Borșevschi’s parish church said in a statement that “the subject of accession to the Romanian Patriarchy remains open”.

“We urge you all, clergy and people, to preserve peace and Christian unity and to avoid slipping into all kinds of divisions, schisms and conflicts, fueled politically. Clerical brothers, let’s think deeply and without haste”, the Metropolis said in a statement after the meeting.
