Even if a quarantine regime was instituted in the municipality of Soroca four days ago, the epidemiological situation there hasn’t improved. The Commission for Exceptional Situations decided to take stricter measures as regards the people’s presence on the street and economic activity, IPN reports.

This way, the persons older than 63 will be unable to leave home without well-founded reasons. Moving in a group larger than two persons is banned. In units of transport, the persons must wear personal protective equipment.

It is banned selling and delivering any kinds of goods, except for pharmaceutical, food and sanitary-hygiene products. The commercial units that provide services in the quarantine period are obliged to supply the personnel with personal protective equipment.

Travelling in a car with more than two occupants, including the driver, is also banned.

According to Prime Minister Ion Chicu, the measures are needed as the steps taken until now didn’t produce the expected result.

In another development, the official said that Talmaza village of Ștefan Vodă district is also placed in quarantine as from April 9, 8am, given that 29 cases of infection with COVID-19 were confirmed there.
