A number of streets in the center of Chisinau will be closed to vehicle traffic this weekend in connection with the holding of sports events, IPN reports.
The order signed by the mayor of Chisinau Ion Ceban says that the section of Ştefan cel Mare şi Sfânt Blvd between the streets B. Bodoni and Al. Pushkin will be inaccessible to traffic between 1:30am on September 24 and 7pm on September 25.
The street sections along which the participants in the races Fun Run (Great National Assembly Square - Ștefan cel Mare și Sfânt Blvd – Vasile Alexandri St – Veronica Micle St – Bănulescu Bodoni St - Great National Assembly Square) and Marathon (Great National Assembly Square - Ștefan cel Mare și Sfânt Blvd - Ciuflea St – Dacia Blvd and back Ciuflea St – Ştefan cel Mare şi Sfânt Blvd – Toma Ciorba St – Ştefan cel Mare şi Sfânt Blvd - Great National Assembly Square) will run will be closed to traffic starting with 2am on September 25.
The public transport will be diverted to the adjoining streets in the period.
To avoid the formation of traffic jam in connection with the races, the General Police Inspectorate recommends the drivers to obey traffic rules and to behave in a disciplined way in traffic. The motorists are asked not to park the vehicles on the given streets so as not to cause impediments.
