The street lighting between the Chisinau International Airport and the entrance to Sangera town was switched on. Contacted by IPN, the director of the municipal lighting company “Lumteh” Nicolae Vereshko said the lighting system is being tested and the illumination will be most probably inaugurated officially this weekend.
The given section represents the second portion lit so far. The system lighting the section between the City’s Gates and the Airport was put into operation at the beginning of this year. The second portion is 5.2 km long. The poles are 10 meters in height and have one or two arms. These were placed on both sides of the roadway so as to ensure increased visibility.
The works on the section between the Chisinau International Airport and the entrance to Sangera town cost about 7 million lei. The money was earmarked in the 2015 budget of Chisinau municipality.
