A strategic partnership for modernizing agriculture was established today in Chisinau by the agriculture ministers of Moldova and the German state of Baden-Württemberg. The signed document is a Joint Declaration of Intent regarding cooperation in agriculture to create opportunities for modernization and development.

The state of Baden-Württemberg, known for its tradition in winemaking and rural development, will offer its expertise in advanced technologies and innovative practices to support Moldovan farmers. Joint research will be carried out and projects will be launched in fields such as winegrowing, biomass and efficiency of waste water treatment plants.

The partnership also includes exchanges of experience in digitization, agricultural mechanization, risk management and environment protection, as well as joint projects to diversify production and strengthen trade relations.

In the context of the visit to Moldova, the Prime Minister of Baden-Württemberg, Winfried Kretschmann, met with Prime Minister Dorin Recean, expressing his support for the transformation process carried out by the Moldovan authorities.

“For us, the desire to accompany the Republic of Moldova in its European integration process is very important and close to our hearts, and we will offer assistance tailored to your needs”, said the German official.

Prime Minister Dorin Recean noted the importance of the support provided by Germany and stressed the need for closer cooperation in the energy sector, including the renewable one, at the same time emphasizing the interest in taking over modern German technologies to develop this sector.
