The Chisinau administration is analyzing the possibility of putting traffic lights at the intersection of the streets Alecu Russo and Mihai Sadoveanu. The change forms part of the project to modernize Alecu Russo St and is also a request from the police and motorists.
Adrian Boldurescu, head of the General Transport and Communications Division, has told IPN that the stoplights may cause more problems, especially in winter, and a number of things should be considered before taking a final decision.
Mayor of Chisinau Dorin Chirtoaca said that all those involved in traffic should be informed about the advantages of fluidizing traffic without stoplights. Until a final decision is reached, there will be proposed a number of solutions.
