Stoianoglo, Furtună and Vlah gained most of votes in Gagauzia

The PSRM’s candidate Alexandr Stoianoglo is the leader in ATU Gagauzia by the number of votes won in the October 20 presidential election. Victoria Furtună is in second place and former Bashkan of Gagauzia Irina Vlah is in third place, IPN reports.


In ATU Gagauzia, 62,545 electors voted in the presidential election. With all the vote reports counted, the situation is as follows:

Alexandr Stoianoglo, Party of Socialists – 48.67%
Victoria Furtună, independent – 28.88%
Irina Vlah, independent – 15.19%
Vasile Tarlev, Party for Future of Moldova – 2.91%
Maia Sandu, Party of Action and Solidarity – 2.26%
Ion Chicu, Party of Consolidation and Development – 0.76%
Renato Usatyi, Our Party – 0.67%
Natalia Morari, independent – 0.37%
Octavian Țîcu, Electoral Bloc “Together” – 0.13%
Tudor Ulyanovski, independent – 0.11%
Andrei Năstase, independent – 0.04%.

Countrywide, with 98.47% of the vote reports counted, Maia Sandu is the leader with 42.04% of the vote. Alexandr Stoianoglo gained 26.27% of the poll.

According to the Electoral Code, if none of the candidates for the office of President of the Republic of Moldova gains at least half of the poll, a runoff vote between the two candidates who obtained most of the votes in the first round of voting is held in two weeks of the date of the first round.
