Ștefan Gligor about eventual coalition of the right with Renato Usatyi: It’s worth a try

The leader of the Party of Change Ștefan Gligor is skeptical that the Party of Action and Solidarity (PAS) will gain a parliamentary majority after the July 11 elections. According to him, the voters in Moldova are too divided for a party to be able to rule alone. Gligor said that if there is certainty that Renato Usatîi’s party wants the justice sector to be reformed, the PAS can form a post-electoral alliance with this political entity, IPN reports.

“My big concern is that the PAS will not manage to achieve a majority by itself: there is the center and several tens of percentage points for which no credible offer was formulated. As a result, even if the PAS gains many votes, it will not manage to change anything. A parliamentary majority cannot be obtained in a country in which the voters are so different,” Ștefan Gligor stated in the program “Fourth power” on N4 channel.

Gligor does not rule out the possibility of an alliance between the forces of the right in the future Parliament and the party led by Renato Usatîi. If a consensus on the reformation of justice is reached, an alliance with Renato Usatîi’s party will be possible.

“If these people do not want to conserve this state of degradation and tolerance of the fact that the Republic of Moldova is a big smuggling operation, while Renato Usatîi wants indeed to do what he says and does not say particular things for improving his rating, it’s worth a try,” stated Ștefan Gligor.

As to the Party of Change’s participation in elections, Gligor said his party will submit the documents to the CEC, but could withdraw from the race.

The Party of Change led by Ștefan Gligor was registered officially in March 2021. So far, eight political entities applied to be registered as election contenders.
