Statistics show that salaries increased in Moldova

On January-June 2006 the average monthly wage of a employee of the Moldovan was of 1,563.5 lei. The average salary in the public sector was of 1,378.8 lei, in the real sector of the economy – 1,663.8 lei. According to the National Bureau of Statistics, the average monthly salary has increased compared with the similar period of 2005 by 28%, and the average wage of an employee in June 2006 was of 1,823.8 lei, by 36% higher than in June 2005. At the same time, the public sector’s employees earned in June 1,879.5 lei, by 26% more than in May.. Statistics show that in the first six months of 2006, the highest salary of 3,674 lei was paid to employees from the financial sector and the lowest, of 697 lei – from agriculture, and forestry. The average salary in the education sphere was of 1,164 lei, health public administration – 1,771 lei, electric and thermal power, gas and water supplies field – 2,648 de lei, transportation and communications – 2,386 de lei, constructions area – 2,084 lei, and industry - 1,930 lei. The average monthly salary of an employee of the economy of Moldova was calculated lacking data of the enterprises and organizations from the Transnistrian region and Tighina municipality.
