State’s debt towards MNB has reduced by 60 mln MDL in September

During September the Government succeeded to reduce the debt incurred to the National Bank of Moldova, which amounts to MDL 2 bln 521 mln, by MDL 60 mln. Thus, from the beginning of this year, the state has reduced its debt towards the central bank by 90 mln MDL. To meet the limit of the currency-monetary Policy, the Government is to pay another MDL 29 mln by end of the year. Out of the debt, MDL 2 bln are credits incurred in the previous years. The central bank applies for them an annual interest rate of 7.23%, decreasing by 0,27 percentage points against August. Another MDL 400 mln of the debt are state securities (SS) obtained in the portfolio of the NBM as a result of the conversion of the loans earlier granted to the state. For this part of the debt it is paid an annual interest rate of 7.23%, lower by 1,23 percentage points compared to August. From the beginning of this year, the Government did not incur new credits to the National Bank. The monetary and currency Policy for 2006 forecasts the limiting of the Government’s debt towards the NBM of 2 bln. MDL 492.2 mln.
