The state of emergency in the Transnistrian region was extended for 30 days. The so-called supreme soviet approved a relevant "decree" issued by the Transnistrian leader Vadim Krasnoselsky, IPN reports.

Under the Transnistrian administration’s decision, the state of emergency, declared in connection with the energy crisis, will be in force until February 8.

The administration in Tiraspol on December 9, 2024 decided to declare a state of economic emergency on the left bank of the Nistru, but at that time it was not yet known whether or not the Russian company Gazprom will continue supplying gas to the Transnistrian region after January 1, 2025.

Since Russian gas was turned off, more than 51,000 households in the Transnistrian region remained without gas and almost 1,500 apartment buildings have no heat or hot water. Also, the power supply is turned off for particular periods of time each day.
