Majors and lieutenants who protect senior state officials on January 27 celebrated the 19th anniversary of the foundation of the State Guard and Protection Service. State officials congratulated them on this occasion, wishing them to be honest and responsible, Info-Prim Neo reports. Moldova's Acting President and Head of Parliament Marian Lupu said it is not easy to have bodyguards around. “But these are the rules and we must obey them,” he said, adding he only wants his guards to fulfill their duties and try to be 'invisible' and inconvenience no one. Prime Minister Vlad Filat said he feels safer with his bodyguards. “I'm grateful to them for their work, which is not easy,” said the Premier. He also said that he knows details about every his bodyguard and their families. “They are people like we and I respect them for what they do and for their care for the people,” he stated, adding that public-private partnerships are to be established this year so as to provide the Service's employees with dwellings. State Guard and Protection Service director Igor Bodorin wished the Service's employes to be vigilant, responsible and benevolent with those who are near the persons they protect. He said they should enrich their knowledge, study psychology and ethics and be well-informed. Employees of the Service said only honest persons with team spirit can work in the field. Those who want to be bodyguards should understand that they must make sacrifices, including in their personal life, but is is very honorable to hold such a post. During the festivities, the employees of the State Guard and Protection Service received diplomas and prizes, including the President's award.
