The incomes in the state budget have been raised with 340.6 million lei up to 14,998.6 million lei, while the expenditures – with 216.6 million lei, as the initial budget deficit has thus been reduced with 124 million lei. The Parliament approved of such a law on Friday, Info-Prim Neo reports. Finance Minister Mariana Durlesteanu has said the additional accumulations into the state budget, poured from January through May, and the estimations of the expected incomes by the year-end imply the possibility of getting 102.3% of the planned incomes. In order to insure minimal inflation, the expected incomes are to be channeled to investment programs, she said. Substantial additional incomes are expected from income taxes — 66.9 million lei, from VAT — 260.2 million lei, from some excises — 159 million lei. At the same time, the incomes from external donors will drop with 84 million lei, while the incomes from projects financed from foreign sources — will grow with 11.9 million lei, because of the appreciation of the leu in relation to the US dollar. The Parliament approved of investing a series of social and cultural entities, in river ports and their infrastructure. Young families will be granted subsidies to buy or to rent dwelling space totaling 15 million lei. 10 million lei are meant to repair dormitories, as other 10 million – to pay compensations to the poor and sick. The Parliamentary opposition has criticized the budget corrections proposed by the Government. Moldova Noastra Alliance leader Serafim Urecheanu has said the rectified expenditures have an electoral character, while as for the incomes – they mirror a policy of gaining additional incomes from consumption based on remittances, and from rampant price rise. According to the Liberal-Democratic leader,Vlad Filat, a big part of the additional incomes will be channeled to “the lofty projects” of the present rulers as the Giurgiulesti harbor and to “electoral projects” as: The Youth Year, the Druta Year, the monument to Dimitrie Cantemir or connecting to gas native localities of some state dignitaries etc. In response, the Communist Elena Bondarenco has remarked “paradoxically, the Government's possibility to carry out its investment duties is called naughtiness by the opposition.”
