State awards for culture personalities on National Day of Culture

A number of people of culture received state awards for remarkable achievements in creative work and high professional competence by which they contribute to promoting the spiritual values of the nation. The awards were handed over by President Maia Sandu on the occasion of the National Day of Culture, IPN reports.

The highest award, the Oder of the Republic, was conferred on film director Vlad Druc, scriptwriter Dumitru Olărescu and plastic artist Tudor Zbârnea, director general of the National Museum of Arts of Moldova.

The Order of Honor was bestowed on architect Gheorghe Bulat, literary critic and historian Nina Korchinski, director of the Romanian Philology Institute “Bogdan Petriceicu Hașdeu”, and translator from the Romanian language into the Czech language Jiri Nasinec.

The medal “Mihai Eminescu” went to poetess Marcela Benea, executive director of the International Academic Center “Mihai Eminescu” Elena Dabija and writer and linguist Valentin Guțu.

Plastic artist Timofei Bătrânu, choreographer and artistic director of the Ensemble of Music and Dance “Mărțișor” Anatolie Magdyl, vocal soloist of the National Pop Music Orchestra Lăutarii” Ion Palade and plastic artist Maria Saca were conferred the honorific title “People’s Artist”.
 
A series of personalities of culture obtained the honorific title “Master of Art” and the honorific title “Emeritus Artist”.

President Sandu said that we should applaud those who, despite a year of great turbulence, crises, maximum tension and uncertainty caused by the war in the neighborhood, didn’t give up, didn’t abandon their vocation, projects or the country and their work and talent deserve to be praised.
