The company StarNet signed a convention with UNDP by which a sum of 400,000 lei will be provided to young IT entrepreneurs, in concert with the project’s partners, IPN reports.

According to a communiqué of the company, the beneficiaries of the SYSLAB centers will attend training seminars and will receive full assistance for starting a business. The eligible persons will receive financing for launching entrepreneurship projects from StarNet and the partners. The company’s employees will also provide an intense mentoring program intended for the beneficiaries of the SYSLAB centers.

“We invest in promising businesses and encourage the young people to have the courage to innovate and start their own businesses in Moldova. The small businesses can become great national and even international successes. StarNet is a relevant example in this respect. I intend to become personally involved in this project as I believe in the development of businesses at local level and in the Moldovan young people’s potential to generate innovative ideas that can become successful businesses,” said Alexandru Machedon, founder and director of StarNet.

The SYSLAB Career Development Centres are created within the Innovative Entrepreneurship for Sustainable Employment that is financially supported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Norway and implemented by UNDP Moldova. The beneficiaries of the centers are young people with higher education, especially persons who returned from abroad after working there. The major goals of the project are to stimulate local innovative businesses, prevent brain drain and foster economic growth in regions.
