The electoral staff of candidate for President Igor Dodon calls on all the electoral competitors to be responsible and contribute to the conduct of a constructive, positive and democratic election campaign. A press release signed by Igor Dodon’s spokeswoman Ludmila Muntean says the call is made in connection with the recent intensification of the dirty campaigns staged by particular candidates, IPN reports.
The candidate’s staff notes that particular candidates resort to the destruction of posters, thwarting of electoral events, intimidation of voters and dirty media campaigns. “These are desperate actions taken by particular persons who this way try to justify the future failure in elections and who are interested in attempting to discredit the electoral exercise,” runs the press release.
It also says that the institutions responsible for ensuring the proper conduct of the election campaign should react to the committed violations and should apply the law.
