St. Gheorghe edged out by Partizan in Europa League qualifier

Partizan Belgrad needed extra time to get past St. Gheorghe in Europa League second qualifying round. The only goal of the game, which was played in Chișinău, was scored from a penalty kick by Bibras Natcho on the 104th minute. 

St. Gheorghe manager Serghei Cebotari used the following line-up: Calancea, Ojog, Novicov (Stepanenko 91), Smirnov, Svinarenco, Sagna, Plămădeală, Slivca, Mochuleak (Ghecev 86), Mandrîncenco, Volkov (Istrati 57). 

In the third qualifying round, Partizan will encounter Charleroi.

Elsewhere last night, Moldovan striker Ion Nicolaescu scored twice, helping the Slovakian team DAC Dunajska Streda win a 5-3 victory against Jablonec. Introduced on the 78th minute, the 22-year-old took the game into extra-time on the 85th minute and then scored again on the 96th minute with a superb kick from the penalty area.
