The faction of the Liberal Party in the Chisinau Municipal Council (CMC) remained without two councilors. Vasile Grama and Igor Calin announced their withdrawal from the faction, IPN reports.
In the October 10 meeting of the CMC, Vasile Grama said the decision to withdraw from the Liberal faction was taken after the Liberal Party’s National Council, where it was decided to exclude him and Igor Calin from the party. They will not challenge the National Council’s decision as their views do not coincide with those of the party’s leader.
Vasile Grama and Igor Calin said they will serve as unaffiliated councilors, but urged their colleagues from the CMC to consider the reconstruction of the democratic alliance in the Council.
Igor Calin has told IPN that they expect more persons to leave the Liberal faction.
Before the leaving of Vasile Grama and Igor Calin, the Liberal faction had 16 councilors.
