A man from South Korea, who killed his sister last autumn in Chisinau, was found guilty of murder, but will not be held criminally responsible as it was established that he acted in a state of irresponsibility, IPN reports.

The Buiucani Court of Chisinau City decided that the man should be admitted to the clinical psychiatric hospital in the capital city, where he will undergo forced treatment under strict supervision.

The psychiatric assessment carried out during the investigation showed that the 27-year-old man suffers from a serious mental illness, which affects his discernment. According to specialists, he is not able to understand the consequences of his actions and cannot control them.

The tragedy happened on the evening of September 11, 2024 in a house in Centru district of the capital city, which the victim, a 28-year-old woman, was renting. According to investigators, her brother stabbed her for several times, causing her death. The body was discovered on October 3 in a state of putrefaction.
