The Party of Socialists (PSRM) accuses the presidential administration of using the issue of political corruption as a pretext for reuniting parties to mimic the democratic process, IPN reports.

In an official statement published on Friday, in the context of the consultations announced for Monday by the head of state, who invited the parties to the Presidential Palace, the political executive of the Party of Socialists said that "there is no real democracy in the country" and that "we live under an abusive political regime, which rigged the elections and forced an electoral score to remain in power."

In the Socialists’ opinion, "if a serious discussion between the parties is ever to be organized, it must take place on a neutral platform and address things complexly, with solutions that would be implemented."

As in the messages that were previously disseminated by the PSRM, the party insists on the depoliticization of institutions (including the Central Election Commission), and on the cessation of political repression directed against the opposition.

The political executive of the PSRM considers that "only in this way will it be possible to ensure a balanced and fair electoral process in the parliamentary elections and, without these decisions, any further discussion with the ruling party will only lead to a waste of time and to the consolidation of the PAS dictatorship and propaganda."
