The Party of Socialists will provide financial support for purchasing medicines and medical equipment in a bid to help contain the COVID-19 infection. It will donate the allocations obtained from the state budget, the party’s president Zinaida Grechanyi was quoted by IPN as saying in a press briefing.
In this regard, the Socialists requested to consider allowing, during the state of emergency, a derogation from Article 28 of the Law on Political Parties that bans parties from using the allocations received from the state budget for other purposes than the party’s needs.
The Socialists recommend all the parties that receive allocations from the state budget to follow their example and redirect these funds to the fight against the pandemic.
