MP of the Party of Socialists Vlad Batrîncea said everyone sees what’s going on in Parliament and in front of the Parliament Building today. “We see how some of the members of Parliament of the Republic of Moldova stage particular events. It’s a pity that the same line is maintained, after damaging microphones and things in the assembly hall. We now also see the stairs of the Parliament Building being destroyed,” the MP stated in a press briefing, being quoted by IPN.

He expressed his regret at the fact that the political dialogue is held this way, not inside Parliament. According to the MP, the first discussion with farmers on the platform of the responsible parliamentary commission was held last week and a compromise was reached as a result of it, namely to put off the coming into force of the new provisions on VAT in agriculture.

Vlad Batrîncea noted that financial resources are needed to satisfy farmers’ demands and they thus proposed annulling the “billion law”. “The repealing of the billion law means that money from the budget will not need to be paid for the purpose,” stated the MP, noting this money could be directed to the agricultural sector.

The farmers who are dissatisfied with the size and way in which compensations are provided for the losses sustained because of drought and with provisions of the budgetary-fiscal policy for next year are protesting in front of the Parliament Building. They brought a number of tractors right next to the central entrance of the building. A section of Ștefan cel Mare și Sfânt Blvd is inaccessible to traffic.
