After last night's snowfall and frost, ice has formed on the roads in several districts of the country, the State Road Administration reports. According to the State Road Administration (ASD), crews intervened on the arteries to ensure traffic, IPN reports.
In the districts of Briceni, Donduseni, Edinet, Ocnita, Drochia, Glodeni, Riscani and Soroca, more than 27 special machines and 16 workers have been cleaning the main roads this morning and have spread 148 tons of technical salt, the ASD said.
Road traffic on the routes is ensured in winter conditions, the road surface in the northern area is wet, but in places the roads remain slushy, the ASD warns.
Snow continues in some areas, as the forecast called for and issued a code yellow. At present, there are no roads blocked on the national network and crews remain mobilized to ensure safe conditions, the ASD says.
