“I’m sure that the experience and cooperation with Mister Grozavu and with professionals of the City Hall will enable us to initiate changes and many initiatives that will provide solutions to the problems of the residents of Chisinau in the long, medium and short terms,” new acting mayor of Chisinau Silvia Radu stated in the ordinary meeting of managers of municipal services and divisions, IPN reports.
Silvia Radu noted that she took up this post at the request of Nistor Grozavu. She pondered well and decided to accept the responsibility, being aware that the term in office as acting mayor will be short.
For his part, Ruslan Codreanu, the second deputy mayor named by order of Nistor Grozavu, said he will vacate his seat of municipal councilor as the two posts are incompatible. Even if the decision to accept the post of deputy mayor is a risky one from political viewport, he assumes responsibility for continuing at the City Hall all the things initiated in the Chisinau Municipal Council by the European People’s Party of Moldova, of which he forms part.
The new deputy mayors will present their work priorities in a news conference that is to be given within ten days.
Silvia Radu and Ruslan Codreanu were named deputy mayors of Chisinau by order of the acting mayor. Nistor Grozavu also issued a statement whereby he announces that he leaves the post of acting mayor general of Chisinau and this post will be held by Silvia Radu
