Sheriff Tiraspol scored a surprising victory in the UEFA Europa League group stage. Moldova’s champion beat the leader of Russia’s championship Lokomotiv Moscow away 2-1, IPN reports.
Farfan opened the score for Lokomotiv in the 26th minute, but Badibanga (41) and Brezovec (58) scored then for Moldova’s champion. Sheriff won thus its first victory in Group F and has big chances of qualifying in the European spring for the first time.
Sheriff has six points, as FC Copenhagen does. Lokomotiv scored five points, while Zlin two. On November 23, Sheriff meets at home the holder of the Cup of the Czech Republic Zlin. On December 7, the team trained by Roberto Bordin will go to Denmark to play Copenhagen.
