National Division champions Sheriff have suffered the second defeat this season at the hands of the same Petrocub and at the same score of 1-0. This time the game’s single goal was scored by Alexandru Bejan in the 41st minute, IPN reports.
This was Bejan’s first game in Petrocub’s colors following his transfer from Dinamo-Auto.
“We had important players missing in this match, with Ivanov and Cojocaru unavailable. It wasn’t easy for us, but we managed to win”, Petrocub’s manager Lilian Popescu told the post-game’s press conference.
Despite the loss, Sheriff still lead the standings, with two points ahead of Milsami, who were held to a 1-1 draw by Zimbru.
