Moldova’s champion Sheriff Tiraspol trounced Omonia Nicosia 3-0 in the UEFA Europa League groups, IPN reports.

The score was opened in the second minute by Nigerian player Rasheed Akanbi, who profited from an excellent pass from Ukrainian goalkeeper Maksym Koval. The former Omonia player, Nigerian footballer Iyayi Atiemwen, scored for 2-0 from a penalty kick. The final score was set in the 76th minute by Senegalese player Mouhamed Diop, who successfully transformed a pass from Rasheed Akanbi.

In the other match of the group, Manchester United lost at home to Real Sociedad 0-1. Sheriff plays the next match at the Zimbru Stadium in Chisinau against Manchester United on September 15.
