Sheriff Tiraspol haven’t made it to the Europa League play-offs after losing to Sweden’s champions AIK.
After a 1-2 defeat in Tiraspol, Sheriff could only manage a 1-1 draw in the second-leg game played in Solona. The hosts opened the scoring on the 61st minute thanks to Nabil Bahoui, and Sheriff’s Gabrijel Boban scored a late equalizer. Sheriff manager Zoran Zekic didn’t use any Moldovan players in the line-up.
AIK Solna are going on to meet Celtic Glasgow in the Europa League play-off stage.
