Sheriff holds lead in National Division

Sheriff Tiraspol won the derby against Milsami 1-0 and continues to lead in the National Division. Brazilian player Juninho Potiguar scored the only goal of the match in the last minute, IPN reports.

“We deserved this victory. I think my team is the best in Moldova,” Sheriff coach Zoran Vulic told a news conference.

Current champion Milsami scored no victory during five stages and ranks seventh in the championship. Instead, Sheriff is now four points ahead of Zimbru, which surprisingly lost to Speranta 0-1. The only goal was scored in the last minute by fresh entrant Reindorf.

Dacia climbed to the second spot after winning a 2-0 victory against Academia and has by two points fewer than Sheriff. Ukrainian player Zagynaylov scored both of the goals in the game played in Ghidighici. The other two matches of the 14th stage ended as follows: Zaria - Saxan 2-1, while Dinamo-Auto - Petrocub-Hancesti 2-0.
