Sheriff Tiraspol aims to qualify for the Champions League groups. The first obstacle is Montego’s champion Sutjeska, which the Tiraspol team met the previous season, also in the second qualifying round of the competition, IPN reports.

As last year, the first match between Sheriff and Sutjeska will be played in Tiraspol, at 8pm on July 15.

After the 1-1 draw scored in Tiraspol last year, Sheriff qualified for third round after wining a 5-0 victory away. “90% of the composition of Montego’s champion is the same as last year. Surely they want to take revenge and the match won’t be easy,” Veaceslav Rusnac said in a news conference before the match.

“The last year’s results were a lesson for us. Now we are determined to eliminate Sheriff,” said Sutjeska coach Mile Tomic.

Sheriff this summer has signed 12 footballers, but parted with fullbacks Samardzic, Paye and Melli.
