Sheriff Tiraspol was eliminated from the Champions League. The ‘black yellows’ lost the return match against Dinamo Zagreb 0-3, in Tiraspol on August 7.

The winner was decided after 30 minutes of game, when Fernándes and Soudani scored for the Croatians. Cop scored in the second half. Isa and Luvannor were also close to scoring goals of honor, but failed even if their positions were ideal.

“We lost without the right to appeal. As all the fans, I’m disappointed with our play. We made too many mistakes,” said Veaceslav Rusnac, acting coach of Sheriff.

“The rapid goals were decisive. It was anyway hard as Sheriff is a serious opponent,” Dinamo coach Krunoslav Jurcic said for his part.

It was the fourth defeat in a row together with the goal scored by Sheriff against Dinamo. The team now faces the Europa League playoffs. The opponent will become known on August 9.
