The leading Sheriff trounced Zimbru 4-0 in Chisinau in the ninth stage of the National Division. Robert Tambe scored two goals, while Maxim Cojocaru and Patrick Pedersen by one goal, IPN reports.
Zimbru halfback Dan Pîslă was sent off in the78th minute. “The difference between the lineups of the two teams is rather big,” Zimbru coach Sorin Colceag told a news conference. “We should not relax and say that we played a high-level game. We have yet to a lot to work,” stated the coach of Sheriff Zoran Zekic.
Sfântul Gheorghe remained second even if the team from Suruceni drew 0-0 at home with Speranța. The other two matches of the ninth stage ended as follows: Milsami - Codru 0-0 and Dinamo-Auto - Petrocub 0-1.
