Owing to the victory scored against Zimbru on February 24, Sheriff managed to climb to the first spot in the “all-time” rankings of the National Division. The team from Tiraspol scored 1,616 points, by two points more than Zimbru, IPN reports.
Zimbru, which is the only team that competed in all the 30 editions of the national football championship, lost by 0-4 to Sheriff in the 22nd stage of the National Division. The goals were scored by Lovro Bizjak (14th min), Rifet Kapic (51st), Dimitrios Kolovos (58th) and Franck Castaneda (90th+2). Sheriff remained nine points ahead of Petrocub, which trounced Codru 9-1 on February 23.
In another match of the 22nd stage, Dinamo-Auto demolished Speranța 4-0. The goals were scored in the second half by Litveakov, Cemîrtan, Rogac and Mihaliov.
