Current Division A champion Sheriff-2 Tiraspol lost 0-1 the match of the first stage of the new season to Victoria in Chisinau. The only goal was scored by Valuta in the 53rd minute, IPN reports.
”It was a very hard match. We were a little lucky, but the players did their best,” Victoria coach Alexandr Novicov told a news conference. ”Victoria has a good team that includes practically the same players as the previous season. We have yet many new players,” said the coach of Sheriff-2 Luca Pavlovic.
The other matches of the first stage of Division A ended as followed: Sparta - FC Ungheni 3-3, Granicerul - Zimbru-2 1-0, FC Sangerei - Iskra 3-1, FC Edinet - Saxan-Gagauzia 1-1, Cahul-2005 - Codru 1-0.
