The personnel units of the Carabineer Troops Department will be increased by 280 servicemen. A decision to this effect was taken by the Government in its September 23 meeting, IPN reports.
Minister of the Interior Oleg Balan explained that the ordinary servicemen of the carabineer troops will be gradually transferred to the contract service and the number of servicemen will be thus increased. This is done in accordance with the strategy for reforming the Ministry of the Interior and the subordinate and de-concentrated units that was adopted in 2010.
The additional personnel-related costs that will be incurred as a result of the given reformation will be covered by the 2015 state budget and the 2016-2017 budgets afterward.
